Born in 1935, Mario Bellini is an Italian designer and architect. His works are known the world over and range from furniture to lighting and design objects. Among his great masterpieces are those created for B&B Italia: the Bambole sofa, a hugely successful 1970s project that won the Compasso d'Oro award in 1979.
