Muriel Persil was born in Paris in 1966 into a family of artists. From 1986, she studied at the Ateliers des Beaux-Arts of the city of Paris, then at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière.
Settling in the south of France, Muriel then focused on ceramic sculpture in 2013, which she studied on her own.
She revisits myths, or lets the imaginary and the fantastic direct her hand, granting modeling the power of ontogeny. Proliferation of forms, agglomerates, outgrowths and thrusts of matter are all life forces that articulate with burial and disappearance.
